The smart home control system has many nodes, requires easy installation, fast response, and is cost-sensitive. Using low-voltage power line carrier communication technology (PLC), without wiring, can well meet the needs of home intelligence, especially lighting intelligent control.
For the consideration of cost control, and the smart home control system is biased towards control and the communication message is short, it is advisable to use a narrowband low-speed power carrier communication module.
Smart home control requires fast response speed, and the internal wiring distance of the home is short, generally within 50 meters. Therefore, the network topology considers the star topology, that is, the star topology between the PLC gateway and the PLC slave node. The carrier communication rate is adjustable from 2.2kbps to 8.8kbps.
The PLC gateway can automatically search for PLC slave nodes to access the network, and PLC slave nodes can also actively apply for access to the network and join the PLC gateway. After the network access is completed, the communication control of the PLC gateway to the application service level of the PLC slave node can be carried out.
The PLC gateway is installed at the outlet of the home switchboard. The wave trap is installed at the outlet of the distribution board, and then connected to the PLC gateway, so that the PLC gateway will form an independent PLC network without being interfered by the external PLC network.
